This selection of writings reflects the content of speeches delivered at the conference Displaced Cultural Assets. The Case of Western Europe and the Problems of Central and Eastern European Countries in the 20th Century held on 25th-26th January 2002 and of those made at the seminar devoted to the problem of Polish cultural goods displaced as a result of the WW2 and the ensuing settelment efforts in Polish relations with other European countries and the USA Kazimierz Dolny 12th-13th December 2002. Both meetings were organized by the Stefan Batory Fundation. All of these texts have been prepared exclusively on our request and are not just transcriptions of the conference-speeches but constitute a relevant valuable contribution in its own right.
