In this book the author attempts to offer a new interpretation of one of the greatest masterpieces of literature which this "cult novel" has become and which has been recognised in many rankings as the most important literary work of the 20th century. The present work shows in the new light the life and work of Mikhail Bulgakov, placing him in the prophetic trend en-compassing people fighting for political and religious freedom as well as freedom of speech and of people struggling for social justice, opposing racism, violence and lawlessness. In her work the author proves that The Master and Margarita is a great literary Apocalypse. Literary and thematic features as well as rich symbolism, references to The Apocalypse of St John are elements which were consciously used by Bulgakov, which are not accidental and which also fulfil the genological features of Apocalypse. They explicitly speak in favour of a hypothesis that The Master and Margarita is a great literary Apocalypse.
